Details of Training Staff as follows:
(B.A.(Nurse); PG Dip. MHN; M.Soc.Sc.(Counselling)) Teena has been counselling individuals, couples and families since the late 1980s, and has extensive training and experience in marital and family therapy. Teena commenced private practice in 2001, and also provides clinical supervision, training and education to other counsellors in the field. She combines this with her work as a Senior Education Officer with DAO (HDWA).
(B.A. Hons) Jene is a Psychotherapist in Private Practice. Her special interests and experience include relationship work and the deep recovery work undertaken by people who have experienced trauma and childhood abuse. Her therapy “philosophy” is that the best therapy is the therapy that helps us to access, strengthen and make active use of our own “inner wisdoms”. To this end she particularly enjoys conducting psychotherapy groups which use light somatic/experiential processes to increase awareness of these wisdoms.
(B.A.; M.Soc.Sc.(Counselling)) Steve has been Counselling since 1987, and is a Supervisor at Relationships Australia in Perth. Steve brings warmth, experience and optimism to his work with counsellors, individuals, couples and families. He is interested in helping people develop better relationships with self and others.
(B.A.; B.Soc Wk) Anne has 23 years experience in Social Work, Counselling and Family Therapy. She has also completed specialist Clinical Training in Individual, Couple and Family Therapy at the William Street Family Therapy Centre, and Supervision Training at the Wasley Institute. She has lectured and supervised Social Work graduates from Edith Cowan University, Bunbury Campus. She established her Private Practice in Bunbury in 1994, and is also part-time Senior Mental Health Therapist at the Acute Psychiatric Unit at the South West Regional Health Campus.
(M.A.Human Services (Counselling); Grad. Dip. (Counselling); Dip. Child Psychotherapy; Member PACAWA) Rosemary has worked as a Counsellor with families, couples and individuals for over ten years. She has extensive training in marital & family therapy and is a board member of the Psychotherapists & Counsellors Association of WA. She established the Bentley Family Therapy Centre in 2001 and in addition to her private practice, Rosemary is a Supervisor in the Grad. Dip. in Counselling at Notre Dame University, as well as providing clinical supervision and professional training to individuals, groups and organisations.
To complement this training the Relationship & Growth
Centre was established to offer self-help video and audio tapes designed to assist family therapy professionals in their roles. These products offer professionals the opportunity to further assist clients to improve
their skills of communication in between sessions.
